When I set out to walk 100,000 steps in a single day, I wasn’t just challenging my body—I was walking for something bigger than myself. This would be my search for the limits - physical and mental. Limits that separate the finite from infinite, physical from meta-physical, and existing from eternal. This would be a quest to blur these limits. Nine years ago, I lost my mother to cancer. The disease started as breast cancer and slowly took over her entire body. Watching her fight with grace and dignity changed me. It planted a seed in me to do something more, to raise awareness, to fight for others facing this battle, and to honor her memory. My younger sister also fought cancer and, thankfully, emerged stronger than ever. This walk wasn’t just steps—it was a tribute to both of them, and to everyone impacted by breast and ovarian cancer.
Walking 100,000 steps was daunting, no doubt about it. But from the very start of the day, I felt this incredible surge of support. Lokesh, my friend, not only sponsored the walk but came all the way from Maryland to join me. There he was, walking alongside me, step after step, and it gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward. We weren’t alone—Paul, Suraj, Amit and many more joined us, putting in thousands of steps and giving up their entire day to help me reach my goal.
Let me tell you—around the 50-mile mark, I was running on nothing but determination and the solid comfort of my Swift Running shoes. These shoes didn’t budge, didn’t give in, even when my feet were screaming. I’ve got wide, flat feet, and I’ve never had shoes fit me so well. The stability, the way they absorbed the impact, it was everything I needed to keep going. Honestly, those shoes became my lifeline as the day wore on. "Powering my walk with SWIFT," I kept saying, and I meant it.
But the shoes were only part of it. The people—I can’t even begin to describe how much their presence meant. Ruchi, Deepak, Ipsita, Sahil, Chandni and so many others were constantly checking in, making sure I stayed on track. They didn’t just cheer me on; they made sure my step count didn’t stop ticking until I hit that 100K. And to all of you who joined the WhatsApp group, sending messages and prayers—I felt every bit of that energy.
As I neared the finish line, something hit me: This wasn’t just about the steps or the challenge. It was about all of us coming together for a cause that affects so many lives. "It’s a day like today that makes life worth it," I said, and I meant it with every fiber of my being.
I can’t possibly thank everyone enough—especially my biggest strength, Richa, my wife, who’s always by my side, supporting me through these extraordinary ordeals. You all made 100K in a day possible, and more importantly, you made us stronger in our mission to “Unite for Her.”
Now, if you’re reading this and wondering how to get involved, there’s still time. You can donate to the cause, or simply spread the word. This journey wasn’t just mine—it belongs to all of us who believe in making a difference. And to Swift Running, thank you for keeping me steady, literally and figuratively, every step of the way!
